Pro Tips:

  • Use a small saucepan for melting the chocolate so it is deeper for easy dipping.
  • Melt the white chocolate slowly – it burns easily! If you’re dipping for the first time, you may find it easier to use white candy melts instead.

Variations:

  • For an extra sweet treat, mix in a cup of mini marshmallows with the rice krispie cereal before adding the melted marshmallow mixture.
  • For rice krispie treat hearts: after cooling, use a heart-shaped cookie cutter or silicone molds to make heart shapes of cookies you can still dip and sprinkle!
  • Add red food coloring to the melted marshmallows for even more colorful treats.

Storage:

  • Store Valentine’s Day rice krispie treats in an airtight container or covered with plastic wrap. Lasts for three days at room temperature or up to 6 weeks in the freezer.
